Using Words in Context: Look over the words in the table below and then read each sentence. Choose a word from the table that fits the meaning of the sentence and is the grammatically correct word form. In other words, consider the part of speech the sentence grammar requires.

1. When the writer of "A Room of my Own" was six years old, she experienced the freedom of having a place of her own. She built and her own little place under the kitchen table. Unfortunately, her little house had to be by dinner time.

2. Having lived all her life with sisters and a few bad roommates, she finally was able to move into her own apartment. She no longer had to others' lifestyle or ugly knick knacks. She could do whatever she wanted in her own place.

3. Soon she learned that she would have to face up to some truths. She had to acquire the skills of housekeeping and cooking in order to keep up the apartment and to avoid becoming .
